Food is sooo good and staff and service was excellent!

Food is excellent , as is the service. Wine is a little pricey. $24 for a glass of white wine. The plank salmon and lemon sole are outstanding. The short ribs are very good.

Excellent gluten-free menu, great staff. The only thing that stops this from being a 5 is the parking.

Made online reservation. Hostess said reservation was for next open table. We had to wait 45 minutes. Other than that food is good service good.

And for those who feel in the mood for a grilled steak, try the marinated skirt steak. It is cooked to perfection with a creamy balsamic sauce served on the side. Between a wide selection of appetizers and desserts too, your visit to Cafe Formaggio is one to bring your friends, family, and appetite with you. As you look around you, you'll see many families dining together. I get the feeling like Grandma's Sunday Sauce; family is the specialty of the house!

Unfortunately we do not make it here nearly enough! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants on Long Island. The food is spectacular the service is even better! Everybody in there is friendly and approachable no. It's got a great feel to the restaurant! Wonderful bar and the menu is concise and full of culinary ingenuity! I cannot say enough good things about this place!

Average experience. Nothing upscale. Mediocre food.no wonder restaurant was half empty on the weekend. Wish I went elsewhere. The waiters were very nice however.

Excellent little Italian restaurant in Garden City. Don't fill up on the fabulous bread and olives they bring to your table as you sit down. Save room for the food! Every item we ordered was delicious! Make sure to finish your meal with a cappuccino. The sugar sticks on top were a treat!

Found a hair in my food,staff was very nonchalant about it. Asked if I wanted anything else, and didn't charge me for my meal which they shouldn't have since I didn't eat that much before the hair was found. Still they acted like they didn't care. Will definitely not eat here again.

I love this place. Whenever I am visiting family on Long Island I make them take me here. The food is delicious and they can accommodate so many food allergies! Last night though, they lost my family’s patronage. A cockroach fell from the ceiling directly into our bread basket. This really happened and it was the grossest thing I’ve experienced in a restaurant in a long time. Yes, the waiter comped the most expensive entree and gave us a 15% discount from our meal, but a cockroach fell from the ceiling into our bread basket. We shouldn’t have had to pay a cent. We also did not get a real apology or the royal treatment after this happened. Our waiter seemed pretty nonchalant about it. I’m still cringing about this experience and am saddened that it was not handled well by the staff at this restaurant. We have spent so much money at this establishment over the years with many special occasion dinners and catering orders. It’s really a shame about how we were treated at dinner last night.

Great Italian food! Really good service! A little pricey but worth it for their delicious food.

Waiter seemed like he had better things to do the wait on us. Also, we were called to confirm reservation and told to make sure we were on time, which we were, and then we were seated 1/2 hour late. Food was good though.

My first choice was the taglatelli ragu, but at 7:30 they were all out, as well as the gluten free bread. I ordered the capollini fra diavolo, which was delicious as was my calamari appetizer, but my wife's shrimp with risotto was very salty. Granted this was Valentine's day but you should not run out of items that early, especially when you are just offering a prefix menu. When we left at around 9:00, there was a large crowd, maybe 40 people, waiting to be seated, can't imagine what else they would be out of by the time these people got to order. Will give the place another chance on a regular dining night.

Attended here during a company holiday party. Good food. Nice staff. If you don't want valet parking, drive around the corner and walk over.

Excellent food and delicious gluten-free options from the bread basket to the desserts. Walter, our waiter, treated my party of 20 for a birthday dinner with great service.

Food was good, including the gluten free. Many gluten free choices, ant great care was taken to serve and label ot separately. Service was fast maybe a little too fast.

This is definitely one of the most attractive place in the region. Every time I visit this place I am truly pleased. They preserve their very high standard service and the highest level of meals they serve. You are always happy with this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

The food here was pretty good for the first time coming here, with some salty mouthfuls here and there. The only issue we all kind of had was the lack of a sense of urgency to come back to our table in order to take our orders. When there’s roughly 7 other patrons in the restaurant it shouldn’t take so long to take orders for a six person table.

The classic Italian restaurant in the neighbourhood of Long Island in Old Country Road. They specialised in gluten free meals and this is one of the best Italian restaurants I found in New York. The ambience is perfect, friendly staffs but this place is hard to get a seat reservation especially on the weekends. My second attempt to come here on Friday with reservation was a success. All worth it. Food is super though quite pricey, the wine is good and cocktails as well. There’s parking but limited space, however, they have valet parking which makes it easier. I highly recommend this restaurant especially for those who enjoys gluten- free, perfect place!

Bad experience. Took spouse and family there for a birthday dinner. Dinner order must have never been put in. The food finally comes an hour and a half later with dark black hair in it. Too disgusted to eat. Left and won’t be going back.

This spot is worth trying. They serve big portions for reasonable prices. Always well kept and with awesome character. Would recommend to others.

Overall a good restaurant. The wait staff is happy to offer a joke and keep it light. The food is quite good, in keeping with the high Long Island standard. Drinks were not ordered, so I cannot comment on those. The bread is good and you get a unique medley of "hold you until the food comes offerings" including olives, and a small variety of other tasty items. The enbiance was tasteful and low-key. Valet-only parking outside and the wait to sit down, even with a reservation, was about 20 minutes too long IMHO. Overall a good choice. Mangiare!

The slowest service ever. It took over an hour and half to get our food and once we got our food some of the orders were incorrect. The water was served in broken glass and the table one big puddle. Horrible.

The second time I have eaten here. To be back, is itself a statement! The entire stay appears to be attentive to the customer, and servicing them well; food is quite tastefully delicious, seasoned, and sufficient to satisfy the full appatite.

NEVER AGAIN..... We were rushed out the door, and the place wasn't even busy. Food came almost immediately after ordering. Our dishes were disgusting. Absolutely no flavor, or seasoning. Some of the worst italian food I've ever encountered. The waitstaff leaves much to be desired as well.

We just had a reservation for 14 people-everyone's food was great and the waiter (Frank) was very nice and accommodating!

I love coming here for thanksgiving! Such amazing service and cant beat the food and atmosphere! My cousin has celiac disease and cant have gluten but cafe formaggio is the best place to go for her due to the separate area for gluten free allergies. with such a wonderful accommodating staff and fantastic food, there really is no where else to go!
